Vacancy Museum employee (32/36 hours).

What does your day look like?
You open the buildings to colleagues and visitors. After your opening round, you will prepare the briefing and brief your colleagues and volunteers on the day’s schedule. You discuss what peculiarities to expect and go through the day’s planning together. After opening time, everyone goes to one of the posts; shop/cashier/reception, audio tour or you walk the service round through the the monument and you relieve each other. You receive visitors and guests in a welcoming manner and provide additional information. At the end of the day, you walk the closing lap and make sure everyone has had a unique experience!

Job Requirements

  • You have experience in a similar position, experience in the field of security and supervision and you can demonstrably assess risks.
  • You understand the fragility of a historic environment and the concern for opening to the public a monument with an art collection.
  • You are in possession of a first aid diploma, BHV and CHV (collection assistance), or you are willing to obtain these diplomas.
  • You speak good Dutch and English.

Work Environment
Our Lord in the Attic Museum consists of two buildings, the old monument and the new entrance building. And a new course has been set, focusing on the social relevance of heritage. Every year, we receive around 100,000 visitors and many schoolchildren who are surprised by this special museum!

  • A salary within scale 4, €2406,- to €2863,- gross per month based on a full-time working week in accordance with the Museum collective labour agreement.

  • A year-end bonus of 3.4% and holiday allowance of 8%
  • A collective pension through Zwitserleven
  • An NS Business card for commuting if you live outside Amsterdam or a kilometre allowance within the city of Amsterdam
